MBALA ISUOCHI HONORS MOG

The people of MbalaIsuochi in Umunneochi Local Government; Abia State has honored the Founder/President of Cosmos Ndukwe Foundation; Dr. Cosmos Ndukwe (MOG) with the title of OFU NWA ZURU OHA ONU (one child who serves the need of all) in appreciation of the gesture of building and furnishing a house for their mother and daughter Mrs. Chisia Christiana Ukonwa by the Foundation. While presenting the award, Ichie B.N. OKorocha; the traditional Prime Minister of Mbala expressed his people’s surprise that a man could take the responsibility of building and furnishing a house for a woman he had not seen before just on the recommendation that she deserves help. Okorocha revealed that Mrs. Ukonwa had been a tenant for forty years; within which she had had to move from one make – shift accommodation to the other until Cosmos Ndukwe Foundation eased her this burden of accommodation. He thanked Dr. Ndukwe and members of the Foundation for caring more than the next person. The Prime Minister stated that the title is a sincere acknowledgment of how deeply his kinsmen appreciate the Foundation’s generosity, especially the excellent disposition of Dr. Ndukwe. While responding, DrNdukwe thanked the community for their display of amazing warmth and hospitality. MOG revealed that the Foundation has a strong resolve to share in the depression of widows, which majority is living in critical stress. According to him, the objective of the Foundation among other things is to ensure that widows find life more pleasurable than it is for most of them now. The Founder announced that the Foundation has also suggested that the beneficiary changes her name from UKONWA (childlessness) to UJUNWA (many children) as himself and members of the Foundation would remain her children as long as God tarries. In addition to handing over to her keys to the house, Dr. Ndukwe pledged on behalf of the Foundation that Mrs. Ujunwa’s house will lack neither oil nor water as the Foundation will from time to time provide her basic needs. MOG assured that work is in various stages of completion at four other communities in Arochukwu, Bende, Isuikwuato and Ohafia for four other widows who deserve equal measure of happiness. The four other houses, according to him would be ready for hand over before the end of 2011. Two Trustees of the Foundation Prof. OnwukweAlaezi and Evang Emma Ndukwe; were amongst the dignitaries that witnessed the occasion. HRM UgwuekeOke; the traditional ruler of ElugwuAkanu item, Hon. Israel Aguwa, Chief Kamalu and other persons witnessed the handing over of the keys to the bungalow built and furnished for MrsUjunwa at MgbeluMbalaIsuochi
